“Inside APHIS” Internal Newsletter
The Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)—the federal agency in charge of enforcing the Animal Welfare Act and the Horse Protection Act, among other duties—published an internal newsletter for its employees starting in 2000 at the latest and ending (kind of) in 2017.
Surprisingly, the agency posted several years’ worth of Inside APHIS to its public website, but it deleted them during the info-purge in early February 2017. I plucked the newsletters from 2006-2010 from the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. They were posted as Word documents, so I converted them to PDFs.
In 2016, Government Attic obtained the years 2013-2015 via a Freedom of Information Act request. They’ve kindly allowed me to include these issues.
I filed my own FOIA requests for the years 2011, 2012, and 2016 through early 2019. APHIS sent issues for 2011, 2012, 2016, and 2017, informing me that as of 2018 there’s no longer a newsletter. Individual pieces that would’ve gone into the newsletter are now posted to APHIS’s internal website on a rolling basis.
I assembled all of these scattered newsletters covering covering 2006 through 2017 into one PDF, posted above.
